This may be old news since I tend to run a few days behind everyone else, but Google's chat service is up and running. Head over to
http://www.google.com/talk/ to download the Windows software that uses Jabber for chatting and, according to the documentation, provides free phone calling via the web.
Bummer that only Windows users can get the cool features. Fortunately, Mac clients like Fire and Adium, and Trillian on the PC, can easily make use of this feature.
But the coolest? CFMX Enterprise Gateways... nice, very nice.
Laterz!
just change the jabberbot.zip cfg from MM to have:
secureprotocol=TSL
securerequirement=true
&
serverip=216.239.37.125
serverport=5222
and you're in business. i'm talking to cf7 via google im right now.
